The feeling gnaws at my insides
Like a beast that has been ignored too long
That which I crave is the forbidden
The poison which would destroy my own soul
But it is that embrace that I hunger for
That perfect sweet bliss of the taboo
And all that I can feel in my bones
Is the gentle caress of his hands
His delicate exploration
His beautiful desirous touch
The will within him to break the rules
And to take me as his own
Though my heart quivers in fear
My whole body invites him in
And dies to all it ever knew before

She looked up, confused. "Am I happy? What sort of question is that?"
He shrugged slightly. "I don't know. I just, I want you to be happy. Are you?"
"Honestly?" She paused, closing her book and turning to face him "No, no I'm not happy. But that's ok, because I it's not meant to last anyway."
"What do you mean?"
"Happiness. It's not meant to be a permanent thing. I mean, sure, I have some happy moments, some truly blissful moments, but that's all they are. Moments. You can't hold on to that, it's unrealistic."
"Happiness is unrealistic?" He frowned. "But it's HAPPINESS!!"

Death rattles of what lies between
Lying awake, listening for the breath that no longer resides in my chest
Filling up the empty spaces with silence
Warm bodies now cold
Full heart broken apart and emptied
Lying awake, wondering what might have been had things been different
Pulling up the covers and lulling myself into my own security
Phantom arms around me
